Furnace - Art on Paper Archive is a destination for viewing contemporary art with a focus on works on paper.
Furnace is an energy-maker in the community and region, mounting thoughtful, transformative exhibitions curated from their flat-file archives. Visitors can view original works of art by established and emerging artists from the tri-state area and beyond.
Kathleen Kucka, director, is a professional artist and curator. Her art practice moves beyond the studio to encompass curation. She has a BFA from The Cooper Union for The Advancement of Science and Art, and an MFA from Hunter College. Her work is represented by the Heather Gaudio Fine Art gallery, in New Canaan, CT.
She divides her time between New York City and Falls Village, CT.
Falls Village is located in Litchfield County, in the northwest corner of the state. Starting in the 18th century, the area was central to the early production of iron on the east coast, hence the gallery’s name Furnace.
